According to the police officials, the 35-year-old pregnant woman is dead after a road rage incident with a motorcyclist over the weekend. Authorities are trying to determine why the motorcyclist and other witness came to follow the victim. And why the pregnant woman, who was heard on 911 saying “You’re three men. You followed me. Leave me alone,” returned outside her home with a loaded gun.
The 35-year-old woman from Florida, Sara Nicole Morales, allegedly hit Andrew Derr‘s motorcycle with her Kia around 5:15 p.m., Saturday, according to reports.
Authorities said that Derr was not injured in the minor accident. The motorcyclist and a witness followed the pregnant woman while she drove away from the scene.
According to the police officials, Derr and witnesses contacted law enforcement while following the woman to her home while also attempting to get her to stop. The woman refused to stop, they said.
Derr told investigators when the 35-year-old woman reached home, she went inside and reportedly retrieved a firearm. She then confronted Derr and the witnesses while they were on the phone with 911.
Derr told investigators that he drew his firearm and fired multiple rounds, striking the pregnant woman. He also told investigators that he has a valid Florida concealed weapons permit.
The 35-year-old woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died. Her handgun was recovered on the scene. She was reportedly five months pregnant and leaves behind an 11-year-old daughter and a fiancé.
Investigators are trying to determine why the motorcyclist and other witness came to follow Morales. And why the pregnant woman, who was heard on 911 saying “You’re three men. You followed me. Leave me alone,” returned outside her home with a loaded gun.
At one point, the woman made her own call to police in which she claimed the men were being aggressive and threatening her.
