Wyandotte County has extended the mask mandate through November 11

Wyandotte County, KANSAS – According to the statement, the Board of Commissioners voted Thursday and agreed to extend the mask mandate.

Officials say that the original order requires anyone age 5 and older to wear masks.

According to the health officials, around 40% of residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while about 47% of residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine.

The KDHE lists Wyandotte County at ninth statewide when factoring in vaccination rate, virus cases and testing numbers.

The mandate aligns with the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that counties with substantial or high transmission require masks for residents.
