U.S Highway 54 crash between car, semi-truck leaves 3 children dead, driver seriously injured

Clark County, KANSAS – Kansas Highway Patrol officials said the fatal accident occurred right after 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

It happened on U.S Highway 54.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash.

The responding troopers discovered that the 43-year-old driver of Mercury Grand Marquis left the center of the road and struck a semi-truck.

The 43-year-old man was seriously injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

He was later identified as David Clements.

Three passengers of the same vehicle were pronounced dead.

They were later identified as 12-year-old Juno Clements, 10-year-old Arabella Clements and 7-year old Harper Clements. 

The 30-year-old driver of the semi-truck was not injured, troopers said.

He was later identified as Ali Hassani.

This incident remains under investigation.
