Two vehicle head-on collision on U.S. 169 leaves two drivers dead, two passengers injured

Humboldt, KANSAS – According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred right before 7 a.m. Monday morning.

It happened on U.S. 169.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash.

The responding troopers discovered that the 62-year-old driver of Chevrolet Silverado traveled left of center and struck a Ford F150 head-on.

The 62-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Silverado suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead.

He was later identified as Gordon Lane.

The driver of the F150, 45-year-old Jamie Ellis, also died at the scene.

Two passengers were taken to a hospital for possible injuries.

This incident remains under investigation.
