Lyon County, KANSAS – According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 3 p.m. Thursday.
It happened near the intersection of US-50 highway and Road E.
Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash.
The responding deputies discovered that Chrysler 300 was preparing to turn onto west US-50 from Road E.
The vehicle was then rear-ended by an eastbound pickup truck.
The 26-year-old driver of the Chrysler 300 suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
She was later identified as Mariela Garcia.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
This incident remains under investigation.
