Topeka police have arrested a 16-year-old male youth in connection with Saturday’s homicide death of 46-year-old Hester Workman at her home

TOPEKA – According to the police officials, the suspect was arrested in connection with first-degree murder, felony first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, theft and obstructing the legal process.

TPD officers responded around 7:10 p.m. Saturday to Workman’s home at 2843 S.W. James, where they found her dead. 

She became Topeka’s fifth homicide victim this year.

The capital city recorded a total of 25 homicides last year.
