The Wichita Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a boy Monday afternoon

WICHITA – According to the statement, Wichita Police Department officers responded to a shooting call at the 3100 block of South Yale around 1:40 p.m..

Witnesses said that a vehicle left the area with an unspecified number of adults and one child. 

The vehicle arrived at an area hospital a short time later with the boy who had received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 

He was stopped by officers.

According to the police officials, the shooting was reported to be accidental.

This incident is under investigation.
