TOPEKA – According to the statement, this unfortunate incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday.
It happened at 4031 SE Mercier Street.
When the Topeka Fire Department crews arrived on scene, they noticed heavy flames on the first floor.
They actively began putting out the fire.
Officials say that the damage exceeded $45,000.
There were no people in the house at the time of the fire.
Investigators believe that the fire may have been intentionally set.
