TOPEKA – According to the statement, the Topeka Fire Department crew responded to a two-story home at 708 SW 16th St.
This unfortunate incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
When the Topeka Fire Department crew arrived on scene, they found smoke coming from the home.
They were able to extinguish the blaze without damaging any of the surrounding buildings.
The home suffered $9,000 in structural loss and another $1,000 in content loss.
