Shooting near 21st Street North and Oliver sends 36-year-old man to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Wichita, KANSAS – According to the Wichita Police Department, the shooting occurred right before 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.

It happened near 21st Street North and Oliver.

Wichita Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.

When the officers arrived on scene, they found one adult male victim.

Police said the 36-year-old man suffered a single gunshot wound to his left thigh.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

His identity has not yet been released.

One suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, WPD officials said.

Investigators believe the victim and the suspect reportedly knew each other.
