Pregnant mother, who was not vaccinated due to her beliefs, gave birth to her 6th child before she died of COVID and pneumonia related to the virus

The 27-year-old mom of six reportedly died after battling COVID-19 and pneumonia related to the virus. Her husband said that he and his wife were not vaccinated due to their beliefs. The mother was pregnant with their sixth child when the couple caught COVID-19.

The woman from Texas, Crystal Hernandez, tested positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 1 and three days later, she was reportedly admitted to the hospital. Crystal was 24 weeks pregnant at the time, her husband Rico Hernandez said.

“She started feeling chest tightness and then her breathing got really, really short and really, really bad. Like she was struggling to talk.” he said.

The 27-year-old mother was pregnant with their sixth child when the couple caught COVID-19.

Rico Hernandez reportedly said:

“She was very, very loving. She was goofy, always playing around, always had a big smile, and she loved to laugh.”

Rico said they weren’t vaccinated due to their beliefs.

While Crystal was in the hospital, doctors performed an emergency C-section, and their baby was born at 25 weeks old. The baby tested negative for COVID-19, Rico said. Crystal was reportedly battling pneumonia caused by the virus.

Over the next two weeks, Rico received updates from his wife’s doctors stating that her condition was improving, then suddenly Crystal’s condition took a turn for the worse.

Rico Hernandez reportedly said:

“I wish I would have hugged her tighter and held her longer before I let her walk through those sliding doors. We didn’t get to see her until she was close. I tell my babies to be proud of their mom because she was very strong. She fought to the very end.”

A fundraiser has been set up for the family. Her newborn baby is still in the NICU, but the father said he is very strong and doing well.
