Police find body of firefighter celebrating wedding anniversary, his family says he was possibly kidnapped and murdered

The body of a Texas firefighter has been found in the bathroom window of a hotel at a Mexican resort, according to authorities. He was on vacation with his wife Jamie celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary at an all-inclusive resort when the incident happened on the couple’s first night.

The couple had been out at a hotel bar when they headed back to the room but Elijah stopped and went back to the bar while his wife went to their room and fell asleep. But when she woke up around 4 a.m. on Monday her husband wasn’t there.

The Arlington firefighter’s body was “located in a bathroom window” at a hotel, which was not the resort where the dad of two was staying, according to a tweet from Mexican authorities translated from Spanish.

His wife, who had started searching for her husband, was told he was dead and that he had possibly fallen between the walls of the resort next door.

Elijah Snow was found dead Thursday.

She was told that his death appeared to be an accident and there were no signs of violence but his family believe he was possibly kidnapped and beaten before he was killed.

Snow’s family hired a local attorney who obtained crime scene photos that show bruises on most of his body.

“You’re supposed to be safe there,” Snow’s father-in-law Randy Elledge, told the outlet. “You’re at your resort, all inclusive, and have no intentions of leaving so you’ll be safe. And you’re not safe there.”

Snow had been with the Arlington Fire Department at least eight years.
