Overland Park, KANSAS – According to the Overland Park Police Department, the shooting occurred around 6:09 a.m. Sunday morning.
It happened in the 9700 block of W.145 Terrace.
Overland Park Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.
When the officers arrived on scene, they discovered that family members took the victim to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
She was later identified as Cheryl Holloman, police officials said.
A person of interest was detained and is currently in custody for questioning.
His name is Anthony Smith and he is now charged with second-degree murder.
