Lawrence, KS – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
It happened on U.S. Highway 24/40.
Officials say that the highway was closed to traffic between East 1500 Road and East 1600 Road.
It was back open around 10:15 p.m.
The crash involved a motorcyclist and a driver of an SUV that left the scene.
The motorcycle driver was taken to a hospital.
The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
