Wabaunsee County, KANSAS – According to the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office, this unfortunate accident occurred right before 4 a.m. Thursday.
It happened near K-30 highway in Maple Hill.
Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s deputies and the Maple Hill Fire Department crews responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that Ford pickup truck was northbound on K-30 highway when for an unknown reason it collided with a Union Pacific train.
The responding deputies said the driver of the Ford pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s age or identity have not yet been released.
This incident remains under investigation.
