Lawrence, KS – The Lawrence Police Department welcomed its newest officer, Thomas, who was officially sworn in during a recent ceremony.
Officials said the officer joins the department from the Leawood Police Department and will begin training focused on community-based policing practices.
He will then enter field training alongside a Field Training Officer before starting regular patrol duties.
The department encouraged community members to welcome Officer Thomas as he begins serving the Lawrence community.
