Shawnee County, KANSAS – According to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, this incident occurred around 10:09 a.m. Friday morning.
It happened near SE 22nd Street and SE California Avenue.
SCSO officials said that the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center broadcasted information regarding a female attempting to jump out of a vehicle.
The responding deputy observed a red Chevrolet Cobalt drive towards oncoming traffic while passing multiple vehicles in an intersection and initiated a traffic stop near SE 38th Street and SE Adams Street.
During the investigation, drugs were found.
The 32-year-old driver of the vehicle, later identified as Brent Haverkamp, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The 30-year-old passenger, later identified as, Amber Bloomquist, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for two warrants for her arrest, one felony warrant and one misdemeanor warrant. Bloomquist was also charged with felony interference with law enforcement.
