Man shot and killed his neighbor after he became angry because the victim’s cat came onto his property

According to the police officials, the 58-year-old suspect allegedly shot his neighbor to death on Wednesday. Authorities say the man shot the 41-year-old victim because of a fight they had over the victim’s cat. The suspect allegedly became angry with the 41-year-old victim after his cat came onto his property.  He then grabbed his rifle in response and confronted the victim at his home.

Deputies responded to a shooting call at 15980 SE 258th Avenue Road. The responding deputies arrested the 58-year-old suspect, Clifton Anthony Bliss Jr., on scene and charged him with second-degree murder.

Investigators say the suspect from Florida became angry with the 41-year-old victim, James Arland Taylor Jr., after his cat came onto his property.  He then grabbed his rifle in response and confronted the victim at his home.

Bliss threatened to shoot his cat, but the victim asked him not to. The suspect then fatally shot Taylor.

Before the shooting, the suspect allegedly told his wife and nearby witnesses that the victim assaulted him before the shooting. An eyewitness allegedly said she did not see any physical violence before the incident.

The 58-year-old suspect also argued with neighbors in the past over their cats and dogs. He was known as the neighborhood troublemaker.

Bliss was booked on Wednesday and is being held without bond. This incident remains under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
