Man arrested and charged following aggravated burglary on NE Michigan Ave

Topeka, KANSAS – According to the police officials, his name is Robert Nesbitt Jr. and he was arrested on Monday.

The 34-year-old suspect was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for aggravated burglary, theft, criminal damage and possession of methamphetamine.

This incident occurred in the 1000 block of NE Michigan.

The 911 caller told authorities that someone was breaking into their house through the basement.

The responding officers reportedly found the 34-year-old man running from the home.

TPD officials said he was arrested and taken into custody after a short chase.

This incident remains under investigation.
