Wyandotte County, KANSAS – According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
It happened on Interstate 435.
The responding troopers found two victims.
They say the adult female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was later identified as Shailee Viramontes.
The 3-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Troopers said that Kia Forte left the road and crashed into a pole.
This incident remains under investigation.
