Lawrence, KS – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right before 11 a.m. Friday.
It happened in the 1500 block of Wedgewood Drive.
Lawrence Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.
When the officers arrived on scene, they found a 2-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police say the child was taken to a hospital, where it later died.
Investigators talked with witnesses and all parties involved and they say that the preliminary information suggests the shooting was accidental.
