KHP: Car hits semi on U.S. 54, leaving at least 4 injured

Sedgwick County, KANSAS – Kansas Highway Patrol officials said the accident occurred right after 6 a.m. Monday morning.

It happened on U.S. 54.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash.

The responding troopers discovered that semi trailer and car crashed at the location.

The 64-year-old driver of the semi trailer was reportedly slowing for the red light for the left turn lane when Toyota Camry swerved to the left and struck the semi.

Four occupants of the car suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

Their identities have not yet been released.
