Manhattan, KANSAS – According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash occurred around 5:41 p.m. Friday evening.
It happened at the intersection of Seth Child Road and Marlatt Ave.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers and Riley County Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that SUV was reportedly struck by a Ford F150, while attempting to turn onto Marlatt Ave from Seth Child Road.
The SUV failed to yield, causing the crash, police officials said.
KHP officials said that a 14-year-old passenger in the SUV, later identified as Jackson West, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The other 3 occupants of the SUV, later identified as 15yo Brandon Stroud, 15yo Arion Blanton and 15yo Fabion Clark, suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The 59-year-old driver of the Ford F150, later identified as Todd Thaemert, suffered minor injuries.
This incident remains under investigation.
