Kansas man sentenced to federal prison for two armed bank robberies

Olathe, KANSAS – According to the court documents, his name is Michael Shiferaw and he was sentenced to 28 years in federal prison for two armed bank robberies.

Prosecutors said the 23-year-old defendant was sentenced for two counts of armed bank robbery and two counts of discharging a firearm in connection with a bank robbery.

His accomplice, Kenya Breakfield, was sentenced to 6 years in prison for her role in the crimes.

In Oct. 2018, both defendants robbed the Wells Fargo in Leawood.

In the second robbery, both defendants robbed a Commerce Bank in Roeland Park.
