Lansing, KANSAS – According to the state officials, his name is Lawrence Brown Jr. and he was transported to St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth on Friday.
Officials say the 32-year-old inmate was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
The Kansas Department of Corrections and Kansas Bureau of Investigation are investigating this unfortunate incident.
Authorities are waiting for a cause of death from an autopsy.
Lawrence Brown Jr. was serving a 122-month sentence for a charge out of Sedgwick County involving the battery of a corrections officer or employee.
