The young mom, who used social media to donate her extra bre-st milk to mothers in need, says her newborn daughter is in the hospital, fighting for her life. Her baby daughter, who was born at 28 weeks, is in the pediatric intensive care unit at the local hospital. The doctors reportedly told the parents that their daughter’s lungs are just really sick right now, and that they usually will get worse before they get better. Luckily, the doctors also said that there is nothing wrong with her brain right now and all of her reflexes are working.
According to KWCH, the mother from Kansas, Emily Lee, reportedly helped other Kansans feed their babies throughout the formula shortage. She has been donating her extra breast milk to those in need. Lee reportedly used social media to donate the extra bre-st milk to mothers in need. Emily reportedly told the outlet that she had a surplus of milk because her newborn baby, Bailey, couldn’t drink it for a while.
Once her baby gets better, Emily said that she’ll have even more milk to donate. Now, her infant daughter is fighting for her life. The mother shares regular updates on her Facebook profile. The latest update was yesterday and the young mother reportedly wrote:
“Bailey Mae had a pretty rough night again. They have given her a dieretic to help her to pee off some of the fluid. This is gonna be a long rocky unknown road. It’s really a day by day thing at this point in time. Bailey has gained a whole pound just in fluid.
The doctor explained to us that her lungs are just really sick right now, and that they usually will get worse before they get better. I want to thank everyone again for all of the prayers, we can feel them. I also wanted to let everyone know I promise I see all of your comments, and messages I just don’t have time to like and respond to everyone. We love everyone so much and thank yall for everything.”
The mother also said that doctors have put her child on a paralytic to keep her still and not agitated, because whenever she is moved around or touched she tries to fight the Vent. The medical personnel are trying to get her little body to rest. And just few days ago, the little child had to be bagged and have chest compressions 3 different times. The doctors reportedly told the parents that there is not anything wrong with her brain right now, all of her reflexes are working.
The family has launched a fundraising page, saying that Emily’s husband, Aaron, is not able to work, and they need all the help that they can get.
“This fundraiser is to help Emily and Aaron, their daughter Bailey Mae is currently in the PICU fighting for her life. Bailey Mae also needs all of the prayers she can get. Her little body is fighting so hard. Thank you so much for all of the prayers.” the GoFundMe Page wrote.
