Atchison, KANSAS – According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred right before 9 p.m. Wednesday.
It happened on U.S. 73.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash.
The responding troopers discovered that southbound Toyota Camry drove left of center and struck an oncoming Toyota Corolla.
The 26-year-old driver and the 33-year-old passenger of the Corolla were pronounced dead at the scene.
They were later identified as Felicia Paxton and Jovonnie Franklin.
Two juvenile passengers in the Corolla suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The 37-year-old driver of the Camry was taken to a hospital for treatment.
This incident remains under investigation.
