Governor Kelly announced $16 billion in grants will be administered to venues impacted by the pandemic through the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program by the Small Business Administration

Lawrence, KS – According to the statement, the SVOG program will be administered by the SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance.

Applicants may qualify for 45% of their gross earned revenue for 2019 through the SVOG program. The program caps the amount for a single grant award at $10 million.

The program has $2 billion set aside for venues with up to 50 full-time employees. The program was established by the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits and Venues Act, signed into law on Dec. 27, 2020.

All eligible Kansas venues are encouraged to take part in the SVOG program.
