Fire crews respond to residential building fire at 2600 S. Oliver

Wichita, KANSAS – According to Wichita Fire Department, this incident occurred around 3:09 p.m. Thursday.

It happened in the 2600 block of S. Oliver.

Wichita Fire Department crews responded to a report of a building fire.

The responding crews saw smoke and flames were coming from the building.

The building was vacant and well-boarded up, so the responding crews had to force their way inside.

They decided to evacuate the building and fight from outside.

Crews remained on scene for the next 2-3 hours.

No injuries were reported, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
