Topeka, KANSAS – According to the Topeka Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred around 1:50 a.m. early Saturday morning.
It happened at 1243 SW Western Ave.
Topeka Fire Department crews responded to a report of a residential building fire.
The responding crews said smoke was coming from the building.
They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
No one was injured in this incident.
Officials said the estimated total damage is $3,500 to the structure with no contents were lost.
Working smoke detectors were present within the apartment building.
The cause of fire remains under investigation.
