Harper County, KANSAS – According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
It happened on K-14.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding troopers discovered that the 17-year-old victim was heading south when he left the roadway, went back onto the highway into the northbound lane where it struck an oncoming semi.
The 17-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified as Thomas Burel.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
This incident remains under investigation.
