Shawnee County, KANSAS – Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred around 2:09 p.m. Monday.
It happened on SW Burlingame Rd.
Shawnee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash.
The responding deputies one victim.
Deputies said the bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe the unidentified driver struck the bicyclist when the tried to go around it and avoid the oncoming traffic.
Deputies said the driver fled the scene in a silver 2012-2018 Ford Focus.
