Crews respond to abandoned house fire Wednesday afternoon

Topeka, KANSAS – According to the statement, Topeka Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

This incident occurred at 2nd and Van Buren St.

When the Topeka Fire Department crews arrived on scene, they found smoke and fire coming from the roof and porch of the house.

Authorities say the house is abandoned and this was the third time it has caught fire.

They also say that the fire was intentionally set with an estimated loss of over $7,000.

No one was injured.
