Barton County, KANSAS – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 7 a.m. Friday.
It happened the 2800 block of 29th Street in Great Bend.
Great Bend Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire.
The responding crews found a 59-year-old victim inside the burning home.
Authorities say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Great Bend Police Department officers say the suspect fled the scene before they arrived.
She was arrested quickly after.
Her name is Lyndsay George and she was charged with: Murder in the 1st Degree, Aggravated Arson, Aggravated Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer, Aggravated Burglary, Battery, and Criminal Trespass.
Police say the suspect is being held without bond.
