Authorities take one person into custody after a burglary at 201 N.E. Woodruff Ave

Topeka, KANSAS – According to the Topeka Police Department, the unidentified man was arrested and taken into custody on Wednesday.

This incident occurred right before 7 a.m. Wednesday.

It happened at 201 N.E. Woodruff Ave.

The 911 caller told the dispatcher that a man was seen inside the building with a pipe.

The responding officers discovered that the man was still inside the business.

The man reportedly told officers that he is homeless and he had been given permission to be inside the building.

The responding officers discovered that a window had been broken out to gain entry.

He was arrested and taken into custody.

His age or identity have not yet been released.
