KANSAS – According to the statement, the explosion occurred around 6:10 p.m. Monday north of Holton in Jackson County.
The officials have reported that the explosion shattered the windows of neighboring homes and could be felt all the way into Holton.
Firefighters and medics arriving at the scene found the home leveled and on fire.
Unfortunately, the 61-year-old Billy Griffiths was killed in the blast.
This incident is under investigation.
