Lawrence, KS – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred on U.S. Highway 40 in southwest Lawrence.
Deputies responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. Thursday for a reported head-on collision on the highway near the Clinton Parkway bypass.
When the deputies arrived on scene, they found a woman in one of the vehicles. She was unresponsive when deputies arrived.
Despite deputies attempting life-saving care, the woman died at the scene.
A Topeka man in the other vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital
