KANSAS – His name is Marcus Downey and he made his first court appearance Tuesday where he was charged with fleeing an accident and driving with a suspended license.
Wichita police officers responded around 10 a.m. Monday to a hit-and-run at Washington and Waterman. The boy and his mother were crossing the street when the pickup struck the child.
The truck fled the scene and the child died at a local hospital. The victim was a 4-year-old boy.
