Wichita, KS – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident happened Monday.
It occurred at an apartment complex near 13th and West Street.
His name is Christian Lehl and he was watching his two nieces and nephews.
Lehl was handling and showing a handgun to a friend in the apartment when the gun fired, hitting the girl in an adjacent room.
The 12-year-old girl was shot in the arm and shoulder.
Authorities say the girl is suffering from non-lifethreatening injuries.
The man was arrested for aggravated battery, criminal use of weapons and outstanding warrants.
