Topeka, KANSAS – According to the Topeka Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred around 5:45 a.m. early Saturday morning.
It happened at 710 Polk St.
Topeka Fire Department crews responded to a report of a fire.
The responding crews saw heavy fire coming from the basement.
The crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
No one was injured in this incident.
Topeka Fire Department officials reported about $24,000 in damages to the structure.
The cause of fire is under investigation.
