Sedgwick County, KANSAS – According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, his name is Kyle Lucas Romey and he was arrested on Wednesday.
Authorities say the 42-year-old suspect was booked for first-degree murder and a parole violation.
This unfortunate incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the welfare check at in the 15300 block of West U.S. 54.
The responding deputies found a 67-year-old victim suffering from a blunt force trauma to the body.
Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was later identified as Denyce Briet.
Authorities said that there has been a history of arguments and violence in the past involving Romey and his family.
Romey is being held on $500,000 bond.
