The Kansas Department of Health has reported that a 6-year-old who died in November was the youngest person to die from COVID-19 in Kansas.
The announcement came after the death certificate was finalized this week.
Due to patient privacy laws, no further details about the death of the child were provided.
The state has confirmed 281,562 cases since the pandemic began. The monthly positive test rate has recently been on the decline and was reported at 5.7% on Friday.
