51-year-old man dead following train vs. pickup truck accident in Osage County

Osage County, KANSAS – According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 2 p.m. Monday.

It happened in the 3300 block of SW Wanamaker Rd.  

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash.

The responding troopers discovered that the 51-year-old driver was driving his Chevrolet pickup westbound through a field.

He then turned north out of the field and did not stop at the railroad.

His vehicle was then hit by a westbound BNSF train.

The 51-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The was later identified as Patrick Harsch.

This incident remains under investigation.
