Shawnee County, KANSAS – SCSO officials said the 50-year-old driver was arrested and taken into custody on Tuesday.
His name is James Cunningham and he is now charged with failure to stop at an accident resulting in great bodily harm and failure to stop at an accident causing injury or damage over $1,000.
The accident occurred around 2:07 p.m. Monday.
It happened on SW Burlingame Rd.
Investigators believe the 50-year-old driver tried to avoid oncoming traffic.
Cunningham then clipped the cyclist and kept driving, deputies said.
The unidentified victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
