According to the statement, the only evidence of a 4-year-old boy’s massive fall from a cliff is a few cuts and bruises. Despite falling about 70 feet down and striking multiple ledges, the boy miraculously survived and was brought to safety by his heroic father. While hiking, the boy slipped and fell off a cliff, and he struck several ledges on his way down.
On the day of the incident, the child was out with his parents on a Kentucky hiking trail. Members of the search and rescue team were soon alerted about the fall, which took place on Friday, October 15.
“Just after 2:00 p.m. today, WCSART deployed on a mission that would result in nothing short of a miracle,” the organization wrote on Facebook. “While hiking, a 4-year-old boy slipped away from his parents and took a tumbling fall off of a cliff. During the fall, the boy struck multiple ledges and encountered sheer drops of ~30 feet, falling ~70 feet in total.”
Moments after the boy tumbled down from the cliff, his father acted quickly and went “scrambling down the cliff face” to get to his son.
“Upon reaching his son, the father decided to carry his boy downhill, crossing the Red River to reach KY715, rather than stay put or attempt to climb back up the cliff face,” WCSART said. “When WCSART was notified, the father was already on the move. Team members rendezvoused with the father and son as he reached highway 715.”
What was most incredible was seeing the boy’s nonchalance after the mighty big fall. He only had scrapes and bruises to show the rescue team, and he pleasantly surprised them by getting chatty and talking about superheroes.
“While the child was certainly scraped up and bruised, he appeared to be otherwise okay,” WCSART went on to say. “He was very talkative, and very interested in superheroes. The only superhero present was him.”
People who read about the incident were immensely relieved to see the story have a happy ending.
