28-year-old passenger arrested on drug, weapon charges following SW Fairlawn traffic stop

Topeka, KANSAS – According to the Topeka Police Department, the 28-year-old woman was taken into custody right before 1 a.m. early Wednesday morning.

TPD officers reportedly observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of the 700 block of SW Fairlawn.

The responding officers discovered that the tag did not belong to the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

During the traffic stop, officers requested a K9 to their location.

During the search of the vehicle, the officers reportedly found two firearms and drugs

The 28-year-old passenger, later identified as Jazmene Hicks, was arrested and charged with Poss. of Methamphetamines w/intent to Distribute and Criminal Poss. of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

The unidentified driver was cited for several traffic related infractions and released.
