A concerned mom has shared a disturbing video showing her daughter in a “frozen” and “possessed” state after consuming a drink at a nightclub that had allegedly been spiked. Millie remained in the heartbreaking state for four hours. She was on her first night out at a club since turning 18. What was supposed to be a fun experience turned into a horrifying episode after the young woman began feeling unwell and ended up not being able to walk or talk. Her eyes were wide open, fingers were bent in such a way that they mimicked “claws,” and her jaw was clenched.
A man had approached her and offered her a drink saying, “try this. The next thing Taplin knew, she was being rushed to the accident and emergency section, where doctors suspected she was given two drugs. “One to paralyze and one to knock her out,” explained her worried mother Claire. Hoping to warn and protect other women from predators like her daughter’s, Claire shared a harrowing video of her who could be seen writhing on a hospital bed.
“As disturbing as it is, if that saves one girl, just one, then it’s worth sharing. Nothing can prepare you to see that,” said the distraught mom of sharing her daughter’s condition with the world. “It’s just absolutely horrendous. She looked possessed.” Claire revealed that she has never seen anything like this before in her life and the fact that her daughter was experiencing it left the mom in despair. “I was numb. I was looking at her and thought, ‘what the hell have they given her,’ because I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. She was completely frozen, her hands were like claws,” she continued.
“The thing that destroyed me was she knew everything that was going on but she was frozen,” added the 48-year-old. Millie reportedly made efforts to talk to her mom but was unable to due to the paralyzing drugs in her system. “When I made contact with her I could see that she was there, she was trying to me eye contact with me but she couldn’t speak,” recalled Claire. Revealing the details of the horrifying night, Millie shared that she was at the Moo Moo nightclub with a bunch of friends when a man offered her a vodka and lemonade drink. Apparently, he was in a group of people she knew. It was reportedly the only drink she had not purchased herself that night.
“I had a couple of sips of the drink and went to the smoking area. I came back and felt like I’d drunk too much, and then I went outside to be sick,” explained the teen who became unwell just five to ten minutes after consuming it. “She took two sips and she didn’t like it because it was really strong. Within five or ten minutes she felt sick, she wanted to go outside,” explained Claire. “She said, ‘I’ve been spiked’. She knew she wasn’t feeling drunk, she knew it wasn’t right. She was sick and she couldn’t see, she couldn’t walk.” The teen’s friends immediately called her 28-year-old sister Sadie and together transported her to the hospital in the early hours of Sunday, August 1, morning.
“I got there at 1.30 a.m., the video shows what I was greeted with. I was just blown away. I thought long and hard about posting [the video]. You always hear about people being spiked but you never see the reality of it, so I posted it,” said Claire. “I knew everything going on. I could reply to people in my head but I couldn’t get it out. It was really scary. In my head, I was there but in my body, I wasn’t. I’ve never felt like that.
The doctors were really supportive and trying to calm me down. I was in such a state when I arrived. I was so scared. I don’t ever want to go through that again. It was horrible,” added Taplin who won’t be “going out much more.”
She warned, “No matter how well you think you know someone, never accept a drink off them or anything.” Essex Police spokesman is currently investigating the incident and revealed that “no arrests have been made.” Anyone with information regarding the incident has been requested to contact the police. As for the nightclub, a spokesman said they were assisting the police in the investigation and said, “We urge all customers to be present when their drink is ordered and that they do not leave it unattended.” They have also offered extra protection for Taplin should she chooses to return.
